An Alaska can turn at times and lead the push or maneuver itself audaciously to a better position. Azuma on the other hand cannot really manipulate the game through any other means. Agir can do a similar job but its APs can be problematic and its dpm potential on HE is relatively unstable (but it pens really well). It can do that due to good protection and high alpha potential (APs). While Groningen can be competitive and game changing due to extreme dps, its concealment is a problem.Īlaska's out of the picture, but it's basically the cruiser you want if you want to turn the game around. They will be very much fun if you play them exclusively on random (or coop). Same goes for Azuma on the damage farmer side. Groningen's basically a DD-hunter and damage farmer. I have all of Alaska, Groningen, Agir, and Azuma. Hope that helps & wasn't too confusing.as it is kind of a confusing system. So choosing a premium in a line that you are grinding is a good option.unless you don't like that line & don't want another similar ship to a line you don't like. So if you transfer from 1 tech tree ship to the next you can use a premium ship (in the same nation only) to grind out the commanders training & not have the penalties & after it's fully trained again you can put it back on the tech tree ship & use it w/all the skills active. Premium ship's don't get the training penalty so you can use the commanders on them with no penalties to the skills ever. Premiums allow you to transfer commanders to them w/out needing to train them & then transfer them back to the ship they are trained for w/out needing to train them.Īs you progress through a tech tree line you can either get a new commander for every ship or you can transfer 1 commander up the line so you have more points to spend on it but every time you transfer it to the next tech tree ship in the line you need to either pay (doubloons or ECXP or FXP) to train the commander to be able to start using your skill right away (as they are inactive while training) or you have to grind out that training XP with no skills active until the commander is fully trained.
